I am aware that to beat this thing I need to take steps toward the door of serenity.I am trying this four step approach, that is four steps where there will be some accountability. As it stands I do not have any accountability.1.I will stay open about masturbation, pornography and other lust oriented activity with others ,here on this web site ,my twelve step group, other trustworthy like minded christians,my wife(though she has given up on me and does not see any hope that I will change) and my therapist.2.I will continue to go for counselling/therapy.Marriage counselleing perhaps if my wife is willing.3.I will start Monday to go for help to a twelve step group that deals with sex and romance addiction.4.I will try to find some one to help me be more accountable and monitor my on line activity and perhaps install cyber-sitter on the computer.
I passed 10 months of sexual sobriety without taking these steps but since April of this year I have been drowning in lust and despair.
I thank God for this web site.Does anybody have any other insights into practical accountability for our lives as followers of Jesus Christ?

Brother.

I will be praying for you lighterman, these thigns may help.
SafeEyes is an online "cyber sitter" as you are saying that is worth the price, it blocks all access to pornagraphic content, but it is human made so it has glitches, in bringing a remedy you can contact safe eyes trhoguh email and modify your setting through a techie, who will blcok key words, ect....to your own preference. Secondly the Setting the Captives free course is an excellent course you can do online that leads mean and woman to sexual purity using Godly principles, Thirdly xxxchurch dot com has an awesome internet history logger that enables you to send emails every two weeks,(for the free version), or one week (paid), to your 2 choices of accountability partners. I will be praying for you brother and Philipians 1:6 states "he has started a good work and will be faithful to complete it." Blessings. -CaptainAmerica

I found, for myself, that

I found, for myself, that the only way to really stay away from it was to stay away from it. Not watching TV, not surfing the internet, not browsing the latest magazines. They are simply all tools of the enemy to tempt. There's no reason for half naked women to sell toothpaste, yet it happens.

My point is, for myself, avoiding it to begin with was the easiest for me to obtain a pure path. Now that I go online, I remind myself that EVERYTHING I click, watch, do, say etc Jesus is inside of me/beside me does he want to participate in this or that? Would he have to cover his eyes?

I'm a simple guy, but that is what worked for me. Keep fighting brother.
